I do a lot of my writing while I drive. I don't really write lyrics down. I just drive around and make stuff up as I go. Then I usually make an audio note or I transcribe it so I don't lose it. These raps are a collection of words I wrote while driving around during the pandemic. I just stored the lyrics in the "notes", section of my phone. Hence the title..."Notes, Volume 1."

Lots of bars. No hooks really. Just lyrics on top of lyrics.

To provide context, this isn't an album. It isn't an EP. It's not a mixtape. It's just a collection of things I wrote because that's what I do all day. I write. The fact that this isn't a conventional album or release should in no way diminish what it is. I also don't say that out of a desire not to have it held to the scrutiny that a conventional album would bring. I love projects with a goal in mind. The goal with this project was to give my rap fans a whole bunch of raps. Plain and simple. Mission accomplished. I look forward to this being the first of many volumes in the "Notes" series.

Please know that the "Notes" series will also be used essentially as a fundraiser for my upcoming studio projects. Albums with full instrumentation and production are more expensive and just take longer to bring to life. I've written dozens of new songs. But the shutdown has definitely made me divert money from my recording budget to cover real world costs. So, while the project is free, please consider giving whatever you feel it is worth.
